You went to Ruff Neck pubs with your parents e. When the pier was actually good. Shops on both levels, restaurants upstairs, markets on Sundays and the simulator. Also had the excellent shop, curlys kites, the forest with talking trees, the Radisson hotel had a fake rainforest.

You can blame the owners for its demise. They'd rather shopfronts sit empty than rent here out cheaper than they think they're worth. There was a wooden bridge over the Barron river at Stratford. Was closed when the highway bridge opened and became a fishing spot. It was burnt down by kids and eventually completely removed a years ago. There were 2 shopping centres. Westcourt had coles and kmart.
Kmart also had a restaurant inside it. Above it was laser tag called zone 3. Years later we had a timezone on corner of Spence and lake under troppos.
This building also had trinity wharf tavern and shooters pool bar. I remember when Fogarty Park was "the waters edge" The Pier was built on reclaimed land.
You did laps in Earlville every Thursday night!! Westcourt Tavern was the Bungalow!! Not sure who originally created it. Fogarty Park had a Fountain!
I remember being able to walk as a child from the city to Manoora and not being the slightest bit scared. Shooters bar was sensational. It was such a dingy spot up there too.

I remember when Fogarty Park was "the waters edge" The Pier was built on reclaimed land I can remember when portions of Mulgrave Road were still two lanes. I remember the Odeon It's where I saw Star Wars, Tron, link Alien I remember being able to walk as a child from the city to Manoora and not being the slightest bit scared.
